Your Front Office
Believe it or not, one of the most important parts of your business, in terms of marketing, is your front office and waiting room. It's the first thing a new patient sees when they're walking in to your office for their first consultation. It's the place where your anxiety-ridden patient will wait, dreading what's about to come. It's the place where mom is bringing her three young ones for their regularly scheduled check-ups. These patients are all an integral part of your business, so providing them with the perfectly comfortable atmosphere from the moment they walk in is of utmost importance.
Consider designing a room that is both relaxing and refreshing. Use neutral colors and clean lines. Consider combining a variety of fabrics and textures to send the right message. For example, shiny metal trim will give the impression of your practice being clean and sterile, while some plush cushions will give the feeling of comfort. Incorporate green plants and indoor trees to give a more at-home, relaxed feeling. Consider piping in some soothing music. Kid-corners are great for a pediatric practice, however, if you're a high end cosmetic practice that just takes children on the side, just consider keeping a few smaller chairs for the kids to sit. And always keep your front office and waiting room clean and tidy. Have your staff walk out there several times a day, wiping up fingerprints and straightening magazines.
Do not underestimate the power of your waiting room. It's the place that's going to really send the message of what kind of practice you're running.
