An oldie but goodie, many dentists still cite their best marketing avenue as print advertising, including, but not limited to newspapers, magazines and other circulations. Open any major newspaper and you will find at least one ad somewhere for a dentist. Newspapers still have incredibly high membership and circulation numbers to back up their effectiveness. Remember, a visual society likes something they can look at repeatedly...perhaps rip right out of the paper and post on their refrigerator as a reminder to call the dentist for more information.
Magazines are a good marketing medium for dentists in cities with regionally targeting glossy magazines. If you live in a city that has its own magazine, a print ad might be a good option for you. Again, you are taking the opportunity to capitalize on a visual society - but you have one advantage that newspaper advertisers don't: color. You can show images of your best whitening work...and these days, that could mean the difference between getting the patient for keeps, and losing them to another whitening dentist.
Remember to compare circulations and readerships of any publication you might be considering. They'll all have a special number to boast - "80,000 homes" or "40,000 subscribers". Weigh each carefully against one another and decide which print option is best for you.
